Please note that in our recent post we mentioned that next week, Week 3, is the Final Open-Skate. This was a mistake, the week after next will be the final skate, Week 4.
Now on to some important stuff.
There are going to be big changes this year as the Russians are putting their own team in. Normally we would not allow this as it kind of works against the social community we’re trying to build. We’re making an exception here since this request did not just come from their team but also from numerous people throughout the league. We’ve talked to their captains and have made it clear that this will not turn into an us vs. them type of thing.
We’re asking all of you to help in engaging with them. Pop over into their dressing room occasionally and have a beer with them, invite them over to yours to get to know your team…etc. Let’s do our best to get to know them as they are good guys. (this should really be happening with all the teams).
This new team means the Flames and Canucks specifically will lose some players which will in turn lead to adjustments to other teams.
As of right now we are going with 8 teams but that could change.
Players that do not pay on time will not have a roster spot and will not step on the ice until they have paid.
If Tristan MacLaggan does not pay before the deadline his roster spot on the Canucks will be given to a new player. This will put Tristan on the reserve list and he won’t be placed on a team until a spot opens up and he has paid.
It does not matter whether you’ve been in the league for 10 years or are just joining us. If only 100 guys pay, we will have a 7 team league.
If people are out of the country or have some other issues that prevent them from paying they need to communicate with us directly and in advance. Arrangements may be made at our discretion but no player will step on the ice until they have paid.
Team and roster numbers will be decided when the payment window has closed, which is:
Monday, September 23rd
That’s it for now, please don’t forget to register for next week’s skates.
